Scope An account servicer sends the CorporateActionNotification message to an account owner or its designated agent to notify details of a corporate action event and optionally account information, eligible balance and entitlements. It may also include possible elections or choices available to the account owner. The account servicer can initially send the CorporateActionNotification message as a preliminary advice, subsequently replaced by another CorporateActionNotification message with complete or confirmed information. It may also be sent to an account owner or its designated agent, to remind of event details and/or of missing or incomplete instructions for a corporate action event. Usage The message may also be used to:
- re-send a message previously sent (the sub-function of the message is Duplicate),
- provide a third party with a copy of a message for information (the sub-function of the message is Copy),
- re-send to a third party a copy of a message for information (the sub-function of the message is Copy Duplicate), using the relevant elements in the business application header (BAH).

Pagination building block
Page number of the message and continuation indicator to indicate that the multi-part notification is to continue or that the message is the last page of the multi-part notification. Extensibility and generalization considerations
To facilitate generalized design patterns in the system, the CorporateActionNotificationV08 implementation follows a specific implementaiton pattern. First of all, CorporateActionNotificationV08 impleemnts IOuterRecord indicating it is the outermost logical part of the message definition. Like all message wrappers, CorporateActionNotificationV08Document implements IOuterDocument. Because CorporateActionNotificationV08 implements IOuterDocument, it is a suitable template parameter for IOuterDocument, and causes the internal ‘Message’ to be of type CorporateActionNotificationV08.

Document wrapper for serialization
The only real purpose CorporateActionNotificationV08Document serves is to cause the document to be serialized into the ‘urn:iso:std:iso:20022:tech:xsd:seev.031.001.08’ namespace. Therefore, it will probably be the usual practice to build the message and construct this wrapper at the last minute using CorporateActionNotificationV08.ToDocument() method. The returned CorporateActionNotificationV08Document value will serialize correctly according to ISO 20022 standards.
