CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03

Scope An account owner sends the CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequest message to an account servicer to request cancellation of a previously sent corporate action election instruction. Usage The message may also be used to:

Message Construction

Every ISO20022 message has at the highest level what we call ‘building blocks’. Because the message is constructed as immutable records, the association is by composition. Below you can see the relationship between the message and its constituent building blocks: For comparison, see the ISO20022 official specification

Now, we will zero-in one-by-one on each of these building blocks.

ChangeInstructionIndicator building block

When used in a corporate action instruction, indicates that the current instruction is replacing a previous one that was cancelled earlier. When used in a corporate action instruction cancellation request, indicates that cancelled instruction will be replaced by a new corporate action instruction to be sent later. Indicates a “Yes” or “No” type of answer for an element. For comparison, see the ISO20022 official specification This message is declared as YesNoIndicator in the ISO specification. In our implementation, it is represented in source code as IsoYesNoIndicator. Due to global using directives, it is treated as a System.String by the compiler and runtime.

InstructionIdentification building block

Identification of a previously sent instruction document. Identification of a document and type of link. For comparison, see the ISO20022 official specification

Extensibility and generalization considerations

To facilitate generalized design patterns in the system, the CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03 implementation follows a specific implementaiton pattern. First of all, CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03 impleemnts IOuterRecord indicating it is the outermost logical part of the message definition. Like all message wrappers, CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03Document implements IOuterDocument. Because CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03 implements IOuterDocument, it is a suitable template parameter for IOuterDocument, and causes the internal ‘Message’ to be of type CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03.

classDiagram
    class IOuterRecord
    CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03 --|> IOuterRecord : Implements
    CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03Document --|> IOuterDocument~CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03~ : Implements
    class IOuterDocument~CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03~ {
        CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03 Message
     }

Document wrapper for serialization

The only real purpose CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03Document serves is to cause the document to be serialized into the ‘urn:iso:std:iso:20022:tech:xsd:seev.040.001.03’ namespace. Therefore, it will probably be the usual practice to build the message and construct this wrapper at the last minute using CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03.ToDocument() method. The returned CorporateActionInstructionCancellationRequestV03Document value will serialize correctly according to ISO 20022 standards.
