MandateInitiationRequestV02

pain.009.001.02

Scope The MandateInitiationRequest message is sent by the initiator of the request to his agent. The initiator can either be the debtor or the creditor. The MandateInitiationRequest message is forwarded by the agent of the initiator to the agent of the counterparty. The MandateInitiationRequest message is used to set-up the instruction that allows the debtor agent to accept instructions from the creditor, through the creditor agent, to debit the account of the debtor. Usage The MandateInitiationRequest message can contain only one request to set-up one specific mandate. The messages can be exchanged between creditor and creditor agent or debtor and debtor agent and between creditor agent and debtor agent. The message can also be used by an initiating party that has authority to send the message on behalf of the creditor or debtor. The MandateInitiationRequest message can be used in domestic and cross-border scenarios.

Message Construction

Every ISO20022 message has at the highest level what we call ‘building blocks’. Because the message is constructed as immutable records, the association is by composition. Below you can see the relationship between the message and its constituent building blocks: For comparison, see the ISO20022 official specification

GroupHeader building block

Set of characteristics to identify the message and parties playing a role in the mandate initiation, but which are not part of the mandate. Set of characteristics shared by all individual transactions included in the message. For comparison, see the ISO20022 official specification

Extensibility and generalization considerations

To facilitate generalized design patterns in the system, the MandateInitiationRequestV02 implementation follows a specific implementaiton pattern. First of all, MandateInitiationRequestV02 impleemnts IOuterRecord indicating it is the outermost logical part of the message definition. Like all message wrappers, MandateInitiationRequestV02Document implements IOuterDocument. Because MandateInitiationRequestV02 implements IOuterDocument, it is a suitable template parameter for IOuterDocument, and causes the internal ‘Message’ to be of type MandateInitiationRequestV02.

classDiagram
    class IOuterRecord
    MandateInitiationRequestV02 --|> IOuterRecord : Implements
    MandateInitiationRequestV02Document --|> IOuterDocument~MandateInitiationRequestV02~ : Implements

        MandateInitiationRequestV02 Message
     }

Document wrapper for serialization

The only real purpose MandateInitiationRequestV02Document serves is to cause the document to be serialized into the ‘urn:iso:std:iso:20022:tech:xsd:pain.009.001.02’ namespace. Therefore, it will probably be the usual practice to build the message and construct this wrapper at the last minute using MandateInitiationRequestV02.ToDocument() method. The returned MandateInitiationRequestV02Document value will serialize correctly according to ISO 20022 standards.
