CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03

colr.011.001.03

Scope This message is sent by either the collateral taker or its collateral manager to the collateral giver or its collateral manager. This is a response to the CollateralSubstitutionRequest message and the collateral proposed in the substitution request can be accepted or rejected. If the collateral proposed is rejected then a new CollateralSubstitutionRequest should be sent. Note: There are cases where the collateral giver will send this message when the collateral taker has initiated the CollateralSubstitutionRequest message, for example in case of breach in the concentration limit.

The message definition is intended for use with the ISO20022 Business Application Header.

Usage This is a response to the CollateralSubstitutionRequest message and the collateral proposed in the substitution request can be accepted or rejected.

Message Construction

Every ISO20022 message has at the highest level what we call ‘building blocks’. Because the message is constructed as immutable records, the association is by composition. Below you can see the relationship between the message and its constituent building blocks: For comparison, see the ISO20022 official specification

Now, we will zero-in one-by-one on each of these building blocks.

TransactionIdentification building block

Unambiguous identification of the transaction as know by the instructing party. Specifies a character string with a maximum length of 35 characters. For comparison, see the ISO20022 official specification This message is declared as Max35Text in the ISO specification. In our implementation, it is represented in source code as IsoMax35Text. Due to global using directives, it is treated as a System.String by the compiler and runtime.

Obligation building block

Provides information like the identification of the party or parties associated with the collateral agreement, the exposure type and the valuation date. Extensibility and generalization considerations

To facilitate generalized design patterns in the system, the CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03 implementation follows a specific implementaiton pattern. First of all, CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03 impleemnts IOuterRecord indicating it is the outermost logical part of the message definition. Like all message wrappers, CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03Document implements IOuterDocument. Because CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03 implements IOuterDocument, it is a suitable template parameter for IOuterDocument, and causes the internal ‘Message’ to be of type CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03.

classDiagram
    class IOuterRecord
    CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03 --|> IOuterRecord : Implements
    CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03Document --|> IOuterDocument~CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03~ : Implements
    class IOuterDocument~CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03~ {
        CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03 Message
     }

Document wrapper for serialization

The only real purpose CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03Document serves is to cause the document to be serialized into the ‘urn:iso:std:iso:20022:tech:xsd:colr.011.001.03’ namespace. Therefore, it will probably be the usual practice to build the message and construct this wrapper at the last minute using CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03.ToDocument() method. The returned CollateralSubstitutionResponseV03Document value will serialize correctly according to ISO 20022 standards.
